The French Explorer School provides french classes in private or in small groups, as well as the Family French Camp : a vacation in a french family to practice french while having fun in a natural, genuine environment.

How do I sign up my child to a French class or the French family camp ?
Book a discovery call so we can get to know each other and answer all your questions ! It’s a free 30-minute meeting to assess your child’s profile and recommend the most suitable course. This will also be a chance to introduce myself to your child.
I consider parents as my partners in a student’s success. It’s important to build trust and feel comfortable working together.
Do you give any progress reports or feedback ?
Yes I do. For the french classes, I provide regular updates on your child’s progress and suggestions for continuing improvement. I do believe that teacher and parents must team up for a child’s growth, development and -of course- learning
For the French family camp, the children are gifted a certificate at the end of their trip to store with their souvenirs when they will be back home.

Do you want your child to progress faster in French and have fun ? That’s what I propose at the French Family Camp with activities such as art, sports, cooking and more. The French Family Camp is a 100% French immersion learning. It’s the best way to become multilingual.

Is there a minimum age to attend the French family camp ?
The youngest children that have attended the French family camp were 6 years old ! As long as your child is independent and you feel comfortable to leave your child with me, then the French family camp’s door is wide open.

How is the trip organised (plane ticket reservation, enrollment, accomodation, etc) ?
I can help them with the arrangements, as I did this year for 2 families, but the parents of children who want to apply to the French family camp organize the trip themselves.
I only accept 4 children at a time in small groups, so the earlier parents register (from early January to the end of February), the more choice they will have on the dates and number of weeks.

With The French Explorer School, your child will learn french with Anne Penez : a native speaker and certified teacher. In private sessions (Solo Explorer) or in small groups (Groups of Explorers), our online french classes are designed for children and teenagers aged 5 to 17 years old and cater to their level, personality, and interests. My goal is to make learning french joyful, empowering, and culturally enriching.

Can my child try a few classes before enroling for a semester ?
Yes, you can. You can choose the 10-class trial pack to see if the lessons are a good fit for your child. After the 10 classes, you can decide whether you want your child to continue your adventure with me for a longer term or not.
It is very important to me that my students have fun while learning and both parties should enjoy learning or teaching. Moreover, trust and connection are also some of my core values and I think that it’s also very important that you, parents, are comfortable with me.
Are there any equipment required for the french classes ?
Since the classes are taught online, my students just need a good internet connexion and Zoom or Microsoft Teams as softwares. They also need equipments to take notes and engage with me like a notebook, pens, a whiteboard and that’s it!
What if my child cannot attend a class ?
Please notify me in advance if your child has to miss a class.
Sessions in group classes can be recorded, so your child can watch the replay later.
For private lessons, we can reschedule the session depending on the availability of both parties.
When can I enroll my child to a french class ?
Enrollments are accepted throughout the year for Solo explorers.
There may be a waiting list to enroll in a Group of explorers, depending if your child has a classmate yet or not.
In both cases, I invite you to book a discovery call with me so that we can get to know each other and explore the possibilities.
I am hesitating between private and group lessons. How do I choose ?
Private lessons (Solo explorers) are recommended for beginners who don’t speak any French yet, or for learners who want to progress at their own pace and prefer one-on-one attention.
Group lessons (Group Explorers) are ideal for students with similar levels who enjoy interacting together. Teamwork and collaboration create a fun dynamic and are a source of motivation. It’s wonderful to see different students from across the globe develop a friendship !
Ultimately though, it really depends on your child’s needs and preferences. Therefore, you can switch formats at any time : start with private lessons and then join a group, or vice versa.
