Why did I choose to become a French teacher for children ?

Why do I teach French to children ? Teaching kids is more than a profession : it’s my passion. Their laughter, curiosity, and spontaneity make every class unique. As a teacher, I don’t just give knowledge; I learn from them and rediscover the world through their eyes. In this article, I explain why I chose to become a teacher for children and how this choice continues to inspire my work in education.

French is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world and learning it from a young age has countless benefits. If your child already speaks two languages, you may be wondering if learning French wouldn’t be too much at their age. The answer is : absolutely not ! Here’s why introducing French early is a smart choice for your child’s future.

Rituals play a key role in children’s online French learning. They not just create a structure, they boost memory and help kids feel secure and confident. From greeting songs, the ‘What’s up today?’ to the emoji of the day, rituals make lessons predictable yet fun, ensuring children stay motivated and progress with joy.
The “What’s up today?” ritual allows children to start French class gently. Everyone has a speaking time so that their brains can go into “learning” mode. Mine as well!

Bilingualism is more than a communication tool : it’s a brain booster ! Based on my own experience, as well as from what I see while teaching French to multilingual kids every day, speaking multiple languages develops unexpected skill. But what does science say ? From enhanced memory to greater focus, and even delaying the onset of Alzheimer’s disease : discover the cognitive and lifelong benefits of learning multiple languages for children and adults.
